UGC NET Eligibility Criteria Overview
All candidates who are going to apply for UGC NET, at first they
must check UGC NET Eligibility Criteria to apply then proceed-
Exam Eligibility:
Contenders who are going to apply for it they should be an
Indian national.
Applying job grabbers must have qualified Post Graduate Degree
with at least 55% marks OR equivalent examination from
universities/institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities and Social Science,
Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc.
OBC belonging to non-creamy layer/ SC/ ST/ candidates with
disability (PWD) contenders who have secured at least 50% marks in Post
Graduation or equivalent examination are able for this UGC NET.
Applicants who have appeared and whose result is still awaited
may also apply for this Test.
Contenders who will be appear at the qualifying Master’s degree
(final year) examination OR
Job grabbers, whose qualifying examinations have been delayed,
may also apply for this Test.
However, such job seekers will be admitted provisionally and
shall be considered suitable for award of JRF/Assistant Professor eligibility
only after they should have done their Master’s degree examination or
equivalent with at least minimum qualifying marks.
The Ph.D. degree aspirants whose Master’s level examination had
been done by 19th September
1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be capable for a
relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in
NET.
Age Limitation & Relaxation:
Job grabbers who want to apply for this notice for them, maximum age is 28
years. upper age limit might be relaxed up to 5 years in case of contenders
belonging to SC/ST/OBC (As per GOI central list), Physically
handicapped/Visually handicapped and female job seekers.
Selection Process: Aspirants will be selected
on the basis of written test and Interview.
Number of Attempts: There
is no duration of attempts for this examination. Job contenders may take
participate in NET exam as many times.
